Our vision is to build a culture of learning at NBAD that supports the delivery of our strategic business objectives whilst enabling the personal growth and career development of all our employees.
Our focus is not just for today, but seeks to identify and build capabilities to ensure our delivery against our customers’ requirements for tomorrow, so that we build up a pipeline of talent for future leadership positions. Emiratisation is a key objective of the Academy to provide opportunities for UAE Nationals to realize their career aspirations and be key contributors to the success of NBAD and our competitive advantage.
We deliver a range of customized programs across the Bank, in addition to working with external training providers, both locally and internationally.
The NBAD Academy plays a key role in furnishing our people with the skills they need to enable us to achieve our vision of being the number one Arab bank. We want to realize this goal through a strong presence of UAE Nationals at every level in our workforce and across all Divisions.
NBAD Competency Framework – Our Model for Superior Performance
At NBAD we have identified and communicated to our people exactly what is expected of them and the NBAD Competency Frameworks identifies the knowledge, skills and behaviors required for superior performance within the Bank.
Here there are our four competency areas that define our Performance Model:
- Business Leadership Business thinking and management e.g. Customer Focus and Market & Competitor Awareness
- Managing Others People leadership & management skills e.g. Attraction & Retention of Talent, and Coaching & Developing Others
- Personal Effectiveness Personal capabilities e.g. Communication, Planning & Organization and Self-Awareness
- Professional & Technical Expertise Banking-specific needs e.g. Risk Management, Compliance & Security and Credit & Corporate Lending
