NBAD Academy provides support to all employees by identifying and developing talent, benefiting both the Bank and themselves. We treat our people as individuals by providing a range of facilities to assist managers and staff in achieving successful career management throughout the Bank. This is hugely important in making possible the development of our leadership capability for the future.

Some of the specific areas where we provide learning support include:

  • The Talent Management process is an annual and ongoing approach used to identify key talent and implement plans to retain and develop identified employees. The Talent Review Process and the NBAD Leadership Forum enable career moves within the Bank to be made as effectively as possible.
  • We assist with education for many of our people in studying for technical, professional, business, and banking certification and qualifications.
  • For many roles in the Bank we have clear Career Paths, so that our people know what skills, knowledge and experience they need to progress through roles successfully.
  • Crucially for developing our leadership capability, we provide training in a range of people management skills, such as performance management and career planning for managers. This helps us to draw on everyone’s potential to the full and assists our emerging managers to establish themselves as part of our leadership resource as quickly as possible.
  • We deliver Development Centers for our people at three levels, where participants take part in a range of business simulation exercises and assessments. As part of the process they receive one-to-one feedback on key Leadership Competencies and a personalized development plan.
  • We also provide many of our people with support to complete specific training and development activities to meet their individual requirements. Examples include English or Arabic language courses, as well as a range of professional qualifications and post-graduate studies or one-to-one coaching.
