The AFAQ Programme

NBAD’s graduate programme is named AFAQ, meaning horizon in Arabic, because its objective is to prepare the UAE best minds for a successful future at NBAD.

The AFAQ programme is one of the best national programmes in the market for young Emiratis with college degrees in any discipline. Under this programme, NBAD recruits recent college graduates and allows them to spend the first year of their employment at the Bank’s state-of-the-art NBAD Academy where they learn about the financial services industry. During this period, they enjoy full employment benefits including holidays.

The AFAQ programme starts with an introduction to the world of banking, including branch operations, and proceeds to training in financial markets and risk, management, marketing and Islamic banking, among other subjects. All subjects are taught by international experts.

With quarterly review of performance and rewards, a guaranteed position and grade within the bank, you can proactively manage your career and progression.

To be considered for the program you need to meet the following criteria:

• Be UAE National
• Be a graduate – Higher Diploma or Bachelors – and have achieved a GPA of 3.00+ preferably in Finance / Accounting/ Business Studies
• Be interested in pursuing a career in Banking
• Be a committed, high achievement orientated individual
• Be a good communicator with good analytical skills (highly numerate)
• Enjoy working with others
